Our Instruments

A Brass band is a musical group consisting mostly or entirely of Brass Instruments often with a percussion section.

Normally a band is made up of 1 Soprano Cornet, 9 Cornets, 1 Flugel Horn, 3 Tenor Horns, 2 Baritones, 2 Euphoniums, 2 Tenor trombones, 1 Bass Trombone, 2 E flat Bases (tuba), 2 Bflat Bases (tuba). and a full range of Percussion which include a full drum kit, Timpani, xylophone,Tubular Bells, glockenspiel and many others. Most Bands now have 2 or 3 percussion Players.

Our Band is a Silver Band which is basicaly the same as a Brass band except we have mostly Silver instruments rather than Brass. In our name we also have Imperial which came from the type of instrument we had many years ago.

The Instruments we use in our band are mainly Besson Sovereign instruments in Silver. We have purchased Yamaha Tenor horns, our Soprano is a Schilke and our Flugel is a Vincent Bach.

We are pleased to announce that we now have two new trombones from Rath with the third to follow next year. A new York Euphonium.
